While browsing the internet for Christmas
presents (starting early this year!), I found that Stevenson Brothers
are working with a charity called CHIVA Africa on a project called ‘Stars
Rocking.’
The project aims to
raise funds for children suffering with Aids in South Africa to get the medical
help they require and has enlisted the help of a number of celebrities and
designers including Dame Judi Dench who has created a beautiful rocking
unicorn. I must say, I have fallen in love with it and would very much like to
place a bid at the auction at Sotheby’s next month.
Joanna Lumley, Maureen Lipman, Amanda
Wakeley, Melissa Obadash and Julian Macdonald along with other celebrities and
artists, have designed their very own rocking horses to be auctioned at
Sotherby’s on November 14th 2013.
I have had a look at the wonderful workmanship
from the Stevenson Bothers along with the stars design and would love to place
a pre-auction bid for ‘Smow.’ Dame Judi Denchalso happens to be my favourite
actress of all time so I really hope our bid is enough and we can then have
another beautiful horse alongside ours and also help a very good cause at the
